Let's talk hotels. Le Méridien is gearing up for a grand opening in early September. Philadelphia joins an elite list of cities that the hotel chain has come to call home. The Center City location at 1421 Arch Street was originally built as a YMCA and is in the perfect spot for the out-of-towners spending time at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
The Official site has more information on the amenities the hotel will offer.

Also coming soon is the Hotel Palomar, a Kimpton Hotel. The LEED registered hotel is making its roots in the Rittenhouse Square area. The Illadelph reported that the hotel's restaurant will be called Square 1682 featuring American fare created by chef Guillermo Tellez.

Meanwhile plans seem to have stalled for a number of exciting projects including the American Commerce Center and Cira Centre South. KYW Newsradio reported back in June about the problems the A.C.C. faces. The developer's attorney commented that construction could not begin until lead tenets were secured.
